I’m falling in love with each family I work with
— anna karpi
Hi, I’m Anna — a wedding and lifestyle photographer.
I’ve always been drawn to people — their emotions, stories, and the quiet things they might not even notice about themselves. Photography became my way of remembering what matters: real connection, warmth, and life as it truly feels.
My story began in Ukraine, many years ago. That’s where I first picked up a camera and realized how deeply I love saving memories. Later, I moved to Bali — and that’s where I truly grew, both as a person and as a photographer. I learned to slow down, to see beauty in simple things, and to hold onto moments before they’re gone. That’s also where I met my cat, Kusamba — one of the most well-traveled cats you could ever meet. Together we came back to Ukraine when my mom got sick with cancer.
Soon after, I met Alex, my husband — and when the war began, the three of us fled together: hand in hand, paw in hands. We drove across Europe, holding on to each other and our dream of starting a new life in Canada.
In September 2022, we landed in Winnipeg, where we spent three and a half years building our new home and our careers.
Now we’re in Toronto, always together — me, Alex and Kusamba, chasing that same dream again, in a bigger city, with open hearts and full suitcases of stories.
My way of working is calm and steady. On a wedding day, I bring a quiet sense of peace — helping you, your family, and your friends feel comfortable and at ease in front of the camera. I gently guide when needed, offer support when things feel overwhelming, and let the day unfold naturally.
Most of my couples tell me they were nervous about photos at first — but end up feeling relaxed, seen, and cared for. That’s what I love most about what I do. It’s not just about taking pictures, but about creating a calm space and falling a little in love with every story I’m trusted to witness.
